The Bald Eagle has been the emblem of the United States since 1782. Chosen for its symbolic characteristics of strength, courage, and freedom, in many ways the eagles’ fight for survival could also represent our country’s ongoing struggle to adapt in a changing world. Perhaps there are lessons that can be learned from nature that will ultimately ensure human survival and harmonious coexistence.
